One Hot Cupcake : 'Quality hummm'

by Tammy Adams
Finally found it only after calling and asking ,it is way off course to the cupcake places I have been, and I have shopped in 5 states at cupcake est.i also bake myself and for those of you that don't bake and think this place is awesome ,great, ect ect let me enlighten you the so called icing can be bought at Walmart bakery in tubs and now cool whip has even come out with a line of whipped icings, now the cake part is a mix that has been altered some ,worse cupcakes ever had some kind of filling in the salted Carmel which was gooey and made the cake grainy and seem uncooked I purchased 6 favors to give all a try and not one was eatable don't waste you time or money for less go to wal mart buy a tub of their yuk icing and a cake mix n make your own

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville : 'Great Environment & Experience'

by Lucas Wilson
The environment & experience of this place is worth the trip. The food was average for the price. It is definitely somwhere to go if you want to have drinks with some appetizers because of the atmosphere. I'd definitely give it another shot.

The service was really good & prompt, but the food was only average especially for the price. Decent atmosphere, but it wasn't my favorite and not somewhere I feel like I have to go back to if ever in PCB again.

J Michael's Restaurant : 'Great Local Spot!!'

by Lucas Wilson
Our dolphin tour guide, Capt. Matt, recommended this local spot, and he was right on. Everything was great. Give the Cheese Baked Oysters a try! We had a party of 5, and everyone cleaned their plates! Not to mention, the prices are the best on the island with no reduction in quality. Laid back atmosphere as well.

Firefly : 'So-So ... Slow Service'

by Lucas Wilson
I had this on my wishlist for my PCB vacation, but we didn't make it by, and I'm glad we didn't. Spoke to another couple that did go, and they said that the food was good, but not worth the price. They also said the service was very slow, and it wasn't even peak season. I recommend Saltwater Grill if you're looking for a nicer / non-beachy atmosphere. Everything was great there, and their Happy Hour martinis are off the chain.

Saltwater Grill : 'Outstanding!!'

by Lucas Wilson
I can't say enough about Salwater Grill. It was the best meal I had during my vacation, and I will be going back if I'm ever back in PCB. We went during Happy Hour (4:30 - 6:30) and had martinis that were amazing. My wife had the Mahi Mahi, and I had the Crab Cakes. Both entrees were great. The service and atmosphere were both excellent as well. The waitress was very knowledgable about the menu and prompt with everything. Definitely worth visiting!

Frankie D's : 'Awesome Food!'

by Shawn Riggins
While most of the posts are positive. Some of them baffle me, some of the negative ones don't even accurately describe anything, almost like it was made up. My family has been going to Frankie D's since 2001. When we are in town, we will travel the extra mileage from the beach to town at least a few times. The pizza is awesome and they have the best wings. The kids love it there. I hope they are open for another 15 years!!!

Key West Cafe : 'Not sure what the hype is? J...'

by Kelly
Not sure what the hype is? Just went today. First impression was the location is bad. It's next to a tire shop with adjoining doors. The first thing I smelled when walking in was the rubber from tires. That was a turn off. Then I was looking for a menu & when I looked down I saw one. With 5 sandwich choices, listed toppings & 5 side items.I picked the club & hubby picked the Cuban.I got fries & he chose Mac n cheese as sides. We got our drinks & sat down.Service was good & the guys were friendly. They brought the Mac n cheese to my hubby, & we both looked at each other like "what??" .It literally was blue box Kraft Mac n cheese. LOL! He was like wow...I coulda made that at home. Got our sandwiches. They look good. There was a side of spicy mayo sauce. It was good. The sandwiches weren't horrible. But nothing seemed fresh, maybe the bread.Looked like they used Kraft individually wrapped American cheese.Nothing to write home about.I could have spent 18 bucks on something better for lunch.

This place is a joke! I had to remind the waiter to bring me my beer and it took what seemed like forever to get our food! Plus there were only a few people in the place and that was around noon! I will be really surprised if Red Robin is still here next year when we come back to Panama City Beach! Way to many good places here to waste time here!!

Trigo Deli : 'Wedding Rehearsal Dinner'

by SJG-H
Last Friday we held my son and his bride's rehearsal dinner at Trigo Deli. I live 500 miles away from Trigo and made the reservation several months before the wedding, intending to confirm a week before the wedding and make any adjustments in final numbers. I never did. Apparently, I was 1 digit off on the number for the restaurant and so was never able to confirm as I kept getting a machine. I was in a cold sweat when I arrived at Trigo 6 hours before the dinner was scheduled to take place.
To my immense relief, the owner was just rolling in ingredients for the dinner having decided to trust that I would be there. Turns out the phone number he had for me was one digit off as well. I was relieved, he was relieved...an epic moment! :) Then to top it off, the wedding rehearsal ran rather long and into the time frame the rehearsal dinner was slated for, so I was in yet another panic.
Finally, we arrived at the restaurant and everything was beautiful! But there was still one more surprise for myself and the restaurant staff...21 guests had become 24. The extra people were accommodated with food and seating seamlessly (despite this hostesses temporary fit of anxiety).
I received nothing but rave reviews from all the guests. Many who live there locally had never heard of Trigo before, but said they loved it and would definitely be coming back. The lasagna, chicken fettuccini alfredo, fresh bread, and fabulous Greek and Caesar salads were a hit. But what got the most oohs and ahhs from my guests was their phenomenal cookies!
As one who is shomer kashrus, I was concerned that I would have to be "dieting" that night. But not to worry! Trigo also has VEGAN options! :) Not ONLY was my meal vegan, but also the Mediterranean fare I was craving. The tabouli and hummus were wonderful.
The atmosphere was intimate and cozy...AND it was also a kid-friendly experience. Our group was multicultural having at *least* three theologies represented. That the staff of Trigo all paused graciously while people were praying their respective prayers did not go unnoticed. Such courtesy and tolerance speaks volumes as to the quality of these kind people.
If I had to do this rehearsal dinner over again...I would gladly trust it to the Trigo Deli family once again. I will be posting this review on a few other sites as well.

Finns Island Style Grub : 'Best place to eat in Panama city Beach!!!'

by JIM WILLIAMS
Best place to eat in Panama city Beach. I found this place by looking up places to eat on my iPhone. It had great reviews, so we gave it a chance. we ended up eating at finns about 5 times in the week. I had the Killer carnitas which where amazing with pulled pork and a sweet chili sauce. The wife had the swordfish ceviche and it was so fresh tasting. The guy that took our order his name was Steve, told us that his buddy just caught the swordfish two days ago it was swimming in the gulf. Now thats what I call fresh!!! I normally don't write reviews but places like this seem to not exist anymore, this is a place that all the locals eat at and is truly a unique spot.

Hunt's Oyster Bar & Seafood : 'We arrived on Saturday after...'

by Beachnutz
We arrived on Saturday afternoon after driving all night and most of the day! Decided to make a stop at Hunt's. we have been to PCB many times but never ate there! When we got there we saw there was a lot of people waiting outside! Went in and signed in they said it would be about a 30 minute wait! The people outside didn't seem to mind waiting and said that it was worth it! We finally were brought in and seated into a very loud crowded room! We ordered a dozen raw oysters which were huge and very fresh! The Landshark on draft was good and the other food that we had was very good as well! The locals absolutely love Hunt's! I would recommend it too! But we usually stay in Panama City Beach area and don't make it down to this part of town! There are a lot of very good oyster bars closer to where we stay so for us it was a one time visit!

House of Chan : 'Sorry, House of Chan'

by geezerella
We have loved the House of Chan for many years.........However, twice recently, the breaded chicken in both our dishes was tough, overcooked, and impossible to cut with a fork.........Our waiter was super, friendly and efficient... No complaints there..........Yesterday we had a guest with us, so did not say anything, but we feel that the breaded chicken was cooked in advance, and then the different sauces added for the orders.........It's probably back to the Red Star for us........

Gracie Rae's Bar & Grill & The Salty Hawg : 'Manager Exudes Unprofessionalism'

by Sonya Rottero
Salty Hawg is part of the Shrimpboat and Gracie Rae's in Historic St. Andrews in Panama City, Florida. After living her for 12 years my friend and I decided to try out the Salty Hawg. Our first issue was they were out of a lot of their menu items. Supposedly, they had a big wedding the other night and ran out of a lot of their food. Unfortunately, this really narrowed down the menu. The food was mediocre. After dinner, we decided to order some key lime pie. The key lime pie were were told was hand made in their kitchen. After waiting quite some time for our key lime pie, it came out. The key lime pie was frozen and the crust must have been petrified and dated prehistorically because we could not break it apart. They offered to bring us another slice, but then we were told they were out of key lime pie. We inquired about other desserts and said they were all out of those as well. That being said, we asked to speak to a manager and our sever came back and told us the manager was not there. I asked for the managers contact info and was given the manager's number. He called me back and left the most unprofessional voice mail I have ever heard, He said he was in the kitchen and there was nothing he could do for us us and that I was extremely childish and immature for even contacting him. I was blown away. I returned he called and asked him to please stop by our table he reiterated that I was extremely childish and immature and hung up on me. Our server then admitted the manager requested he tell us he was not there. When we received the bill they had the audacity to still charge for the inedible key lime pie. We insisted they take it off the bill. Thankfully, they did do that. I am shocked that this type of person is managing what is supposed to be a nice and reputable establishment. My friend and I will never go back based on the treatment we received. I recommend everyone find another restaurant, with caring managers to spend their hard earned dollars.

We've been going to Panama City Beach for 30 years and we go to Pier 77 atleast twice on every visit. We love the place. The food is good and we like the atmosphere here. We always eat on the outdoor deck. Hey its even air conditioned. The oysters are great either way you get them. The shrimp is good also. Whatever you want it is going to be good. This was the first time we ordered from here. We had a gift certificate and ordered two pizzas. They are nasty. The toppings have no seasoning and the crust is not cooked all the way thru. The crust alone taste like flour and water mixed. I make much better pizzas at home. There was also ash on the bottom of the crust. This shows a lack of proper cleaning. They are not worth trying!

Runaway Bay Caribbean Grill : 'Worst experience ever'

by Tom
We went there to sit out on the pool patio and have some drinks and dinner. There were about 5 people at the bar and we waited over 10 minutes to get a drink. We finally gave up and ask to speak to the manager, they said we would have to go inside, so we did. The couple right beside us also were very upset and left. We went inside and asked the bartender to speak to the manager and she indicated that she was the manager. We asked if we could speak to her and she said that we would have to wait. FORGET IT!! How this place IS OPEN IS BEYOND ME. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. We went to Boatyard and the service and food was awesome.

Capt Anderson's Restaurant : 'Pretty Good'

by elainmir
The chargrilled grouper was hubby's dish of choice and it was out of this world delish, I had the oven broiled stuffed shrimp and they were just ok , nothing to write home about. For 24 bucks there were ONLY FIVE shrimp on that plate. You guys should be ashamed for sending a plate out like that. It had five shrimp , two tiny hushpuppies , a lemon and some type of green ( I'm thinking kale) Our waitress was great, very attentive. I did hate being seated right in the path of the waitstaff trying to do their jobs and serve food, right in front of the kitchen. I would suggest maybe a uniform change for these gals...those brown numbers are wayyyyyyy outdated. Still overall the food was tasty but to me it was overpriced for what I ordered, hubby's was spot on.

East River Smokehouse : 'Terrible Thursday!'

by Amber
As a local to Navarre for nearly 20 years, I cherish my town dearly, especially its restaurants! Unfortunately I will not be returning to East River Smokehouse.
FOOD: I've been here twice now and my food has been pretty good, as in pretty average. Not many complaints here though. It's exactly what I expect it to be every time. However, I still think I am paying more than what I should be. So far I've had the pulled pork sandwich and the sandwich melt, both good and filling, but nothing over the top. It's wonderful for tourists who don't want to go hungry and don't want to spend big bucks.
SERVICE/ATMOSPHERE: The atmosphere has typical gulf coast decor, similar to Shrimp Basket. However, I was a little taken aback from all of the sharp hunting equipment displayed on the walls (saws, knifes, etc.). There's plenty of dining space which is a definite plus.
The server we had today was overly nervous and very difficult to understand. He was practically mumbling and towering over us due to his height! He could have simply bent down to make our encounter a little more friendly and enjoyable. He didn't even tell us his name! He brought me sweet tea when I had clearly said Dr. Pepper. So I gave my sweet tea to my boyfriend to have as a refill, however, our nameless server refilled his original sweet tea, which is a waste of product. Our food took much too long to get to us (25 minutes) considering the restaurant was not busy at the time.
THE WORST PART: When our food arrived, my sandwich came with mustard and mayonnaise squirt bottles on the side. Before I used the mayonnaise, I noticed that the bottle had an expiration date of April 6th, 2013. (Almost 3 months old) So I immediately put it back on the table with a very confused feeling. However, since I work in a restaurant, I assumed they just recycle the bottles and refill them with bigger jars of sauce that they order. However, a customer who has never worked in a restaurant before would have no idea about that sort of thing! Later after we got our check, I asked to speak to the manager about the mayonnaise. All he kept saying was "That shouldn't be on there" and was not very concerned with our problem, which in my opinion is very serious. We explained our server's problem with communication and that our food took too long to get to us. He barely gave us the time of day and barely apologized. He didn't discount our bill, so we just paid and left. I AM NEVER GOING BACK! I am very disappointed that this kind of establishment is doing so well in my lovely beach town. It needs some serious adjustments. I understand a server making a mistake, but when the manager is a complete tool, that is when you have completely lost a customer.

Johnny Hustons : 'Could Be Better'

We've gone in there 3 times and each time they still have not had an item that is listed on their menu. If you aren't going to have an item then use a permanent marker to mark it out or put a piece of tape over it or something. Also the fries seem like they are either overcooked or cooked in dirty oil. A lot of their menu items come on Hawaiian bread/rolls, but I don't think everything goes too well with the airy sweet bread. Also wish their were some better healthier options on the menu. It would also be nice to know what specials are available instead of having to go to your Facebook page or read your outdoor sign. Also you might want to consider mentioning that the serving size of etoufee is like a side portion or appetizer size. My hubby was looking for something to eat after leaving here. If you want to keep your customers or gain more, you gotta step up your game. This isn't cutting it for us.

Thai Hut : 'Best Thai in Navarre'

by ms.farley
Consistently fresh and delicious food. Lots of wonderful flavors, and as spicy as you like...if you ask! The masaman curry is my favorite of all the Thai places in the FWB, Navarre, Pcola area. Love the freshness of the veggies in the pad thai and rice dishes. The service is always good. The managers are friendly and caring. So what if it is not fancy inside. This place has really good food. It is one of our local favorites.

Mom's Curbside Kitchen Mobile Food Truck : 'Yum!!!'

by ms.farley
Drove right by this a hundred times before finally stopping. What a nice surprise to find such fresh, creative and delicious food. I tried the veggie schnitzel with fried green tomatoes on the side. The "schnitzel" was a generous serving of crispy, nicely seasoned eggplant fried to perfection. The green tomatoes were some of the best I've ever eaten. The accompanying sauces and sprinkling of fresh hers were delightful. Can't say what the real meat schnitzel is like because I don't eat meat, but seems everything here is fresh and made with a caring touch. Loved the crab crepes. Just super yummy food...so much better than fast, processed food. Well worth the few extra bucks! And the atmosphere is so appealing. Lots of cute outdoor seating areas, the airstream, and a charming, clean indoor area for comfort. Nice, creative decor. I think "creative" is the best word to describe this place, along with "Yum"! Can't wait to try the sweet crepes!

Z Taco at Al Fresco : 'Needs work'

by Gno
I went there about three or so weeks ago, just shortly after they opened. I had the DeLuna Beef taco and my friend had the Z taco. I also had some chips and salsa. The tacos were good at best, but not something I would recommend to someone else at this time. A lot can happen in a few weeks and hopefully they've worked on some of their weak points.
I realize overhead can be expensive, but their prices for what you get on a 'plate' just didn't add up in the buyers column. The tacos were small and just so-so regarding flavor (I'd have to give Taco Rock higher grades in flavor and authenticity, but not on ambiance). Additionally, I"m used to tacos served on corn tortillas being over stuffed and wrapped in two tortillas while flour tortilla tacos have only one tortilla. I believe this is typically because corn tortillas are so much smaller.
The DeLuna said it was made with barbacoa. Maybe it's my definition of barbacoa that is wrong, but I've always known that to be made from beef head (cheek meat). In their defense I 'Bing'd' barbacoa recipes. One used cheek meat others used brisket and even chuck. And Wikipedia did primarily list head/cheek meat as a main ingredient. And if you haven't experienced head/cheek meat, trust me when I say there's a definite difference.
Overall, the portions were small, chips included in this, and were just average regarding flavor. They're going to have to come up with some sort of cover and cooling (misters maybe) when we start to get into the hot and humid summers we experience here. I give them low marks for my first visit, but I will go there again and give them another chance. Not to mention I'm looking forward to enjoying Jerry's Cajun food now that they've reopened.
I recommend trying it yourself and being your own judge of what you like or dislike; Enjoy!

Panda Express : 'A Chinese Quick Fix'

by Will.i.E
Not the best Chinese food but not the worse. If you are craving Chinese food and need a quick fix, Panda Express might fulfill your needs. I work close by and when running errands on my lunch break, I'll stop by and get a quick bite. My only complaint is their fried rice. It is very bland. They could add more soy to their recipe to add more flavor to it.

Worst service I have encountered when we were there for dinner Monday night. The food was good, but it took 15 for our server to get out drinks!! And she had such an attitude. We sat in a booth by the waitress computer area, and instead of server us, our server was gossiping. So rude!!

Texas Roadhouse : 'Jam Packed'

by Will.i.E
I prefer to eat steak that I cook, but for price, quality, and area, Texas Roadhouse is not bad at all. Seems like every time I drive by this place, there are tons of cars in the parking lot and hoards of people waiting to be seated. If you're looking to dine in on a Friday or Saturday night, be sure to get there early because the wait is fairly long. As for the food, no complaints. Everything came out in a reasonable time, steaks were cooked to order, and service was on point.

Cactus Flower : 'Diner beware'

by ecr0
I recently dined at this restaurant and the food was decent. The staff was horrible. I got my check and gave the waitress my card, which she quickly ran. She came back with a receipt wrapped around my card, which was odd, and another receipt in which she so gratuitously added herself a 50% tip. I got the managers attention and asked if they had a policy regarding gratuity, and he smirked in a manner that suggested this is a frequent occurrence. Everyone should beware of these shady antics before dining here.

Socio's Pizza & Pasta House : 'Not For Me'

by Will.i.E
I'm all about supporting local businesses, so my family decided to order pizza from Socio's. Our first go around, we went with one of their specialty vegetarian pies on thin crust. Wasn't what we really expected for a thin crust pizza. The pie was kind of soggy and not crispy at all. It kind of reminded me of a Digiorno's pizza. No big deal because we decided to order another pizza three months later. This time we went with the same type of pizza but with their deep dish crust. To my surprise, we didn't receive a deep dish pizza but their stuffed crust instead. This pizza wasn't half that bad, but for them to get the order wrong kind of did it for me as a customer. Sorry, Socio's.

Bangkok Garden : 'Pensacola's Best Thai Food?'

by Will.i.E
Like other reviewers stated, the decor is very tacky and the neighborhood isn't the nicest, but the food makes up for all of that! I might be mistaken, but I believe these are the same owners of the old Bangkok Garden that used to be on Navy Blvd. Anyway, My fiance and I ate here about two weeks ago for lunch on a Saturday. She had a tofu pad thai and I went with the pork pad woo sen. Both meals came out very quick, were fresh, tasty, and just overall great! I honestly think this is the best thai food in our area. This restaurant has the Will.i.E seal of approval.

Romano's Macaroni Grill : 'O.K. Choice If Nearby'

by JEL
Given the fact that it is a chain, it's o.k. for what it is. The fried potato and artichoke cakes are fairly tasty. I like the fact that they have a pounded on the bone veal rib chop. I avoid meat dishes like the plague at chains, but this dish is a rarity. It was nicely tender, but the meat wasn't trimmed. The spinalis (cap) was still attached. On a veal chop that isn't breaded and pounded, that is fine. With all the breading the diner can't see the huge amount of fat between the two muscles and winds up getting a mouthful. Aside from fat and being under seasoned, it was very tender and enjoyable overall.
The menu is pretty advanced for a chain, and I'm somewhat impressed despite the flaws. It's a more than decent option for anyone spending long hours at the hospital across the street.

Angus Seafood Steak Spirits : 'The Angus Hits a Home Run'

by mderzis
If you haven't been to The Angus in a while, you should definitely try it again. Peter Bithos is striving to reinvent the Angus to tantalize the taste buds of all Pensacolians. Hot new chef George Makris has truly exceeded expectations with his inovative style, revamping the entrees that made the Angus great and creating some new ones of his own. The front of the house has also seen some changes, William Porter, the new GM really strives to make the customers welcome and to make sure their every need is met. He is knowledgeable when it comes to pairing wines with dinner and can make some very good suggestions. My husband and I recently ate at the Angus and I must say the service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the Angus filet, it was cooked to perfection, along with the wedge salad and garlic mashed potatoes. Delicious! My husband chose the Chicken Marsala. Also and excellent choice. We will definitely be back again and have already urged our friends and family to visit The Angus again.

This place was the third place my wife and I tried while in Navarre after searching urbanspoon and I must say it was by far our favorite. Papa nalu's grill has a slimmer variety of dishes but they do each dish very well. They make all their own sauces and each one is scrumptious. The Huli Huli sauce is magical. The wings with Huli Huli sauce was life changing. If you are deciding on places to try in Navarre, do yourself a favor and make the drive to papa nalu's.

by Meda
When I lived here in the late 90s coach and four (ft Walton and crestview locations too) were great. The steals were marinated or dry rubbed in spices. Just went to the pensacola location again and it was crap. Steaks were bad cuts, salad was bland, we didn't get bread until halfway thru dinner and the steals are now marinated in worschester (sp) sauce blah. I wouldn't go back next time I'm in town nor would I recommend it. Go to a Logan's or outback

Nick's Boathouse : 'Good View Bad Food'

by Gator Girl
I've waited some time to write this review thinking time would have dulled my experience. Myself and 3 others dined here on 4/27/13 after hearing a mutual friend talk up this restaurant. Like other reviewers we questioned our choice when we pulled up to a near empty parking lot. We hoped the parking lot was empty because it was early (before 6) and everyone seemed to be at the beach.
We asked to sit outside for the view because the restaurant sits on the bay. The view was the ONLY good thing about this restaurant. We ordered cheese fries while we decided what we wanted as our main course. The fries came out in what can only be called white cheese sauce. There were a few bacon bits and green onions scattered about. The cheese sauce was edible or we may have just been that hungry! We ordered 3 meals and 1 appetizer as a meal. The fried grouper was crusted in I don't know what but the crust was incredibly hard. My girlfriend ordered fish tacos but could not eat them as tacos because they were so soggy the tortillas fell apart when picked up. We both choose cole slaw as our side and almost spit it out because it had soured. One of our friends ordered the crab claw appetizer. I kid you not, there were five claws on the plate. That was as surprising as the size of the crab claws were huge, huge with flour coating! The other friend ordered fried shrimp and fries which was sub par at best.
Finally, the music or what they called music. There was a live band that reminded me of a backyard gathering. You know those with enough talent to entertain those that love them. This band tried hard to impress the diners which was far more than the restaurant did.

We came to Crabs this weekend and had the BEST food and service of any restaurant on this beach! Some of my family enjoyed the Seafood Tower that has every kind of crabs you want....Snow, King, Dungeness, and more. They loved it! I had some of their fresh Cobia fish that had been caught that morning. It just melted in my mouth!!
Our server Mikayla, was OUTSTANDING!! She took care of us and told us all about the menu, answered our questions but also let us enjoy our experience. The employees and everyone around us was having a great time.
This is a MUST if you come out to Pensacola Beach. It's the ONLY restaurant actually on the Gulf and isn't obstructed by condos.
So for GREAT food, service, and plain fun, this is the place to come!

Helen Back Again : 'We stopped in at Helen Back ...'

by Kara
We stopped in at Helen Back Again for a late lunch on the way home from the beach. I read the reviews prior to stopping, and it seemed to be a good place to stop. We arrived, and not one waitress spoke to tell us it was self seating, or direct us...there was plenty of help just standing around, and there were only 2 other tables occupied. It wasn't a busy time of the day. Our waitress took our order, and after an hour of waiting, she returned to tell us that she apologized, but two of the three pizzas we ordered were burned, and would have to be remade. I understand accidents happen...I own a business myself. She then said that we could have a free appetizer, per the general manager. I declined the offer, as I was there for pizza, and asked that the two pizzas be taken off our bill, for the amount of time we had waited plus additional time for more pizza to be made. The food itself was good, once we received it. Upon leaving the restaurant, the waitress apologized that her general manager would not allow her to give the two burnt pizzas free, but would "discount one pizza by 50%", and went on to say that "it was no one's fault the food got burnt". The manager didn't even care to stop by our table. Don't waste your time or your money coming to this restaurant...they don't care about their customers. We won't ever be back.

This place is nothing like any other traditional sushi place, but do not let that discourage you. The atmosphere is quite exceptional and comfortable with extremely friendly staff.
It had been a year since I had first gone to Slippery Mermaid and had been wanting to go back when I was in town, glad I did.
The menu has changed slightly but expanded in a good way, the new rolls are quite unique and honestly again am impressed that some of the ingredients that are used have never been used in such a way before.
We ordered 4 rolls (can see picture) and the presentation is beautiful. Each roll is unique, flavorful and overall quite yummy.

Gouda Stuff at Al Fresco : 'Complete Waste'

by Jessy Karns
We have been going to Pensacola forever, since I was in the womb literally....we drove past this food truck area 4 times on our vacation and since I love food trucks had to check it out! I even googled in and found out it had JUST opened! Even more excitement came! We debated between taco truck or this one...I don't see how this gouda truck can last! First the teenager operating the window taking orders had NO sense of urgency when it came to anything! Like a snail running a drive thru! Nevertheless, it's about the food right!? I ordered the Jive Turkey. This place was considered "gourmet" melts???? My cheddar cheese was shredded, cold & NOT melted. The turkey was literally one slice of cheap lunch meat nothing gourmet about it! My husband got the Tuscan and his looked like it was cooked better and he liked it. I don't know maybe Pensacola has not had much experience in food trucks....if the owners stumble on this, please come to Nashville and look up the Grilled Cheeserie food truck AND read it's reviews! That's a gourmet melt!

Go to take your kids for dessert & let them wind down on the playground or just get a drink for yourself! I went here every year for a while, they had good food and atmosphere. Last time I went was in Sept of 2011 then we went last week May 2013.....what in the heck has happened?! Sweet tea was excellent but sides were average and the actual seafood tastes like crap! Flounder stuffed was horrible and stuffed with vegetables that did NOT compliment the fish at all! Our server was great but that's about it. We will not return. Hemingway's Island Grill : 'Change for the better I hope!'

by Jessy Karns
I will say the last time I went there was Sept 2011 and I really hope they have got there act together....when we went then it was one big let down they hadn't been open too long I don't think because if I remember correctly it still had the grand opening sign on it.....anyways. Every dish tasted funky, like bad seasoned combinations, portions were small and overpriced. We vowed never to return. We did go back and eat at places nearby and noticed that they had 10 entrees for $10 sign up. We almost wanted to go back and see if they had a positive movement in the right direction. Just couldn't do it! On the plus side it's still open so maybe they have and the view is still awesome!

by Jessy Karns
Sweet, cozy cafe. All the girls that work there are sweet & have good spirits even though they are normally slammed in the morning time. Be expecting to wait but if you're missing a good down home breakfast this is the best place on the beach. I got the eggs benedict/crab cake, it was good! My husband got the omelet and loved it as well. We went three times and I can't remember everything we ordered but we had no complaints! :-D The only thing I would change is the space! You guys are running out of room! Move to a bigger home! Too crowded the waitress was taking the order of the table next to us and her butt was in our face as we were eating....of course with short shorts the guys don't mind that! HA!

Peg Leg Pete's : 'Please do not overlook Pete's!'

by Jessy Karns
First off let me say I have been going to Pensacola Beach for vacations since I was in the womb, literally! :-) We go every year! I am 30 years old and have been going here since 1991 when they opened! It was my parents fav and still my fav in Escambia & Santa Rosa area. Peg Leg's grouper supreme is my husband's favorite sandwich in the world literally! All there seafood is cooked so well, flaky and flavorful! Mixed grill is the BEST. If you prefer fried version they have that too and it's fried well, not overcooked. I love the outdoor seating and atmosphere! This is not a stuffy place :-D Kids LOVE it too! They love that their food comes in a bucket they can use as a hat LOL or use for sand on the beach! You get a lot for your money here and the only downside of Pete's is it seems like there is ALWAYS a wait. I wish they would ditch the under "where" bar and use it for FULL use food service! Please do not miss this one! It will become your family tradition too and if someone from Peg's happens to read this! Bring back the pinball machines upstairs you used to have :-D Kids love those too!

The Fish House : 'Excellent All Around'

by Jessy Karns
We went there after my parents recommended we go. They had the steak and mahi mahi salad and LOVED both. We loved the view and vibe of this place, casual but still classy at lunch. Great bay & marina view AND great location. My husband & I had the steak sandwich with aus ju and their burger. For an appetizer we had the seafood flatbread which was very tasty, would recommend to anyone! He liked his steak sandwich and my burger was great except the chef had reading problems.....I ordered my burger with cheddar, blue cheese & bacon. When I got my burger it had no bacon, I assumed the waitress wasn't listening. We forgot all about it then after we paid I stopped to look at receipt and we were charged for the bacon. It was 1.00 our card had already been swiped and my husband did not want to wait around for a 1.00 refund but I have to mention it on here as a reminder to all :-) check your receipts! Don't hesitate to eat though! I wish we had found it sooner before our return home I would've eaten there a couple more times over!
